This is a special release that is close to our hearts. One of our long-term coffee partners since 2014, Hartmann Estate is a four-generation-old family business, winning multiple awards over the years. We were fortunate to cup with Ratibor and the family in Panama, picking this limited release lot for its lovely florals and intensely-sweet cup profile.
Helmed by Ratibor Hartmann, a third-generation coffee producer, Hartmann Estate comprises of 2 farms – Santa Clara Finca Hartmann and Ojo de Agua, located between 1,300 and 2,000 metres above sea level with nearly 100 hectares of forest reserves bordering on the Parque Nacional de La Amistad. For the Hartmann family, every harvest is an opportunity to explore, refine and push the boundaries of coffee processing.
Ratibor Hartmann, the third generation of the family, manages the business with his four siblings, each of whom oversees a specific aspect of the farm. The fourth-generation has taken on more tasks at the farm, from driving guests around, to brewing some of the best coffee that Hartmann has to offer, and making sure our needs were well taken care of. It was heart-warming to see the family gathered around a common passion for coffee.
