Mutitu is located near the town of Mukurweinin in Nyeri county, on the eastern slopes of the Aberdares mountain range. This wet mill is contributed by approximately 750 smallholder farmers, and is also one of the oldest wet mills in Kenya since 1975.

Harvesting usually lasts from October through December, and in 2019, Mutitu processed approximately 350000kg of cherries. Cherries are first depuled with a disc pulper, before going through dry fermentation for 12 to 24hours. After fermentation, the coffees are then passed through washing channels to thoroughly remove the parchment skin. Lastly, the greens are soaked in clean water for 36 hours before drying them on raised beds.

The thorough process of washing and cleaning the cherries ensure a crisp and lively acidity in your cup.
