Under the guidance of the non-profit organisation, Coffee Quality Institute, coffee being produced at the Kyauk Kuu Pyin village has steadily grown in yield, quality and price. This positive increase has also realised an improved infrastructure for this village 120km South of Mandalay, Myanmar. Focused on producing natural processed coffee, U Thein Tun oversees production for nearly 500 families in this village.
Utilizing raised beds and being in a dry climate allows the villagers of Kyauk Kuu Pyin to dry their harvested ruby red cherries within 14-21 days, and frequent movement of the coffee bed results in a consistent profile, full of bright fruit, yet clean and delicate.
